In January 2005 Milwaukee was bought out by Techtronic Industries. This buyout happened over 3 years ago. We figured we gave them enough time to cycle their tools through their sales channels and replenish them with the new tools under the new company. So we wanted to run the tools through a new set of power tool tests and see if their quality has changed. This article will cover whats in the package and give a quick overview of each power tool. Power tool batteries replacement is a costly affair that all of us are aware of. The latest new service that you might not be cognizant with is the power tool battery rebuilding services. Battery type. You have 3 choices to choose from. Nicad, Nimh and lithium batteries. Nicads have been around for years and are a great choice and all the major brands have them. Nimh offers more run time in the same size package although your choices are a lot slimmer. Panasonic is the main one for the Nimh although you will find others. The premier choice, in my opinion is the Lithium battery tools. It's hard to believe the run time you can get from such a small battery. Don't worry about the power from such a light battery, remember, 18 volts of Nicad, Nimh or Lithium batteries will give you the same power.

WD40 or any rust penetrant may do the trick but the grease is more permanent. PLEASE NOTE If you have a grease gun or use cobalt mining canada grease out of the tube or tub on your snow blower make sure it is LOW TEMPERATURE GREASE. It will say so on the container. If unsure, ask the sales person - if you can find a knowledgeable one these days. The grease is usually blue in color. Don't use regular ball bearing or general use grease on your snow blower. It will gum up when it is cold out and make parts stick or harder to use. On units that have linkage instead of cables, thaw out and spray or apply low temp lubricants on all pivoting parts.
Another thing to remember is not to store those batteries in the charger as well. This will draw energy away too, and cause your battery to die off sooner than you expect. Keep it away from high heat or extreme coldness. Heat tends to cause damage to your battery while exposing it to low temperatures over a period of time will draw its charging capacity.

There is also a lot of misinformation about batteries in general based on the older models and technology. You do not need to totally drain the new lithium models. Its fine to use it until you get a warning of low power but don't purposely try to push it to empty since there is no reason to do so now. And if you do push it to absolute no power you might also experience some lose of data, a very good reason not to go that route.
